Information
- Place: Departement of Archaeology, University of Hradec Kralove, Hradec Kralove, Czech republic
- Language: Czech
- Semesters: spring 2020
- Open to: all (Bc, Mgr, PhD)
Objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic methods, principles and devices used for 3D acquisition of archaeological artefacts and situations. The course will consist of both theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part will focus on a brief presentation of 3D acquisition methods (e.g. laser triangulation scanners, structured light, computed tomography, photogrammetry). The practical part will consist of scanning of real-world artefacts of different sizes.
Plan
- 1. Introduction
- 2. Theory I – active methods of 3D acquisition
- 3. Theory II – passive methods of 3D acquisition
- 4. Theory III – basics of 3D scanning and post-processing
- 5. Practical scanning of artefacts I
- 6. Practical scanning of artefacts II
- 7. Practical scanning of artefacts III
- 8. Practical 3D reconstruction by using photogrammetry I
- 9. Practical 3D reconstruction by using photogrammetry II
- 10. Practical 3D reconstruction by using photogrammetry III
- 11. Practical modelling in terrain I – acquisition
- 12. Practical modelling in terrain II – post-processing
- 13. Exam and final discussion
